     The Parisian edition of 1702, emended and enlarged by the astronomer and mathematician Philippe de La Hire, was reissued in 1751. The text on the orders, entitled, as in 1702, “Abrégé des cinq ordres d’architecture”, was rewritten with the references brought up to date: Vitruvius, Philibert De l’Orme, Diego Sagredo, Vignola and the allusion to Blum’s plates engraved by Jean Lemaistre were eliminated in favor of Vignola, Palladio, Scamozzi, Fréart de Chambray, Blondel, Perrault, and above all d’Aviler “who set out to render Vignola in all his purity” (p. 200). The plates representing the orders go back to Perrault’s models in the Ordonnance, to which pedestals were added. The added plate on the five orders was also taken from the Ordonnance. It was the last avatar of the Theatre de l’art de charpentier by Mathurin Jousse (1627).
