     Jean Hénault, Parisian licensed publisher-bookseller, put out three editions of the Traité de fortification by Georges Fournier in twenty years, from 1648 to 1668.  The treatise is made up of two parts, the second one being a collection of engraved plates with a second title.  Hénault seems to have used the same copperplates for all of his editions, including the one in Spanish (1649).  The one most frequently encountered is the 1661 edition, with characteristics identical to those of the preceding editions.  However, let us notice that the copy at the municipal library of Besançon lacks the frontispiece here taken from another copy in a private collection.
