While Jean II de Tournes went into exile in November, 1585, his colleague from Lyon Jacques Roussin reprinted Le capitaine by Girolamo Cataneo in 1593. The edition comprises all the introductory pieces (Cataneo’s “Foreward” and the translator’s address were inverted), except for the 1574 privilege awarded to his predecessor for twelve years. Jean de Tournes’ dedication was signed this time with his initials alone (I.D.T.). The three folding leaves on camp topographies were inserted in their place between pages 146 and 147.
