« Creusant des tranchées (en 1608) du canal de Briare, entre Montbouis [Montbouy] et Monteresson, sur le rivage de la rivière de Loing, en un lieu appelé Sévinières [Chenevière], furent trouvés plusieurs vestiges et vieux bâtiments à la romaine, avec les ruines d’un amphithéâtre ; plus bas furent trouvés, dans un champ des pilastres et quantité de vieux fondements, et encore en ce champ se trouva un lavoir à la mosaïque et plusieurs médailles »… |
