Remarks

Antonio de Beatis left a handwritten account of the journey he made with the Cardinal of Aragon in 1517/18 (Germany, Netherlands, France, England). The journal was published for the first time in L. Pastor's critical edition of 1905

= “Near the said town is an amphitheatre in ruins and, two gun shots from there, on the Cannes road, a triumphal arch, in stone, and a section of a wide road”…
