« Indubie promontorii Curiani sunt reliquiæ. Hau procul hinc abfuit insula Antros, & in continenti Noviomagus altera Biturigum Viviscorum urbs, idem fatum cum Cu[143]riano experta […].
[17] Cujus situm ita delineat Ptolemæus, ut constet in extremo Medulorum angulo ad ostium Garumnæ positam fuisse, ubi pagus nunc est Solacus [...]. At istius Urbis nunc nec vola nec vestigium exstat : sicut nec insulæ Antros [...]. [18] Quod si non vestigia ejus supersunt adhuc eo in lacu Medulorum, in quo narrant incolæ, cum siccitas magna est & aquæ paullo minus, videri muros & signa quædam urbis »...
= “These remnants are incontestably those of the old Curian Promontory. Not far from this place was the island of Antros and, on the continent, Noviomagus (the ancient city of Bituriges Vivisci, who afterwards founded Bordeaux) which suffered the same fate as the promontory”
