Remarks

Peiresc's drawing highlights the podium, the portico of Corinthian columns and the staircase by which one entered the Roman temple (1st century BC). A chapel dedicated to St Cesarius was built against the temple at Vernègues, a part of which was employed as a church during the 10th and 11th centuries
