Remarks | The vestiges in question could not have been the amphitheatre (1st century), which was situated some 4 km south of the town on the left bank of the Garonne River, in the suburb of Purpan. They may have been those of the 'Château Narbonnais' and the 'Porte Narbonnaise' destroyed in the middle of the 16th century |
