The passages in italics were added by Platter subsequently to the period in which the rest of the text was written (1604-1605). This hybrid edifice (theatre-amphitheatre) was situated outside the town, in a place known as Grohan

« Es sindt auch vor dem thor in einem garten an dem ort, Grohan oder Brohan genennet, noch (rudera) gemü[r] sel unndt andeütungen, daß von den Römeren vor zeiten ein (theatrum) schauplatz daselbsten erbauwen seye worden, wie daß gemeür noch anzeiget, unndt finden die gartner oftermahlen noch alte, heidnische pfenning mitt der Römeren bildnuß daselbsten. »
= “And also, beyond the city gate, in one of the gardens of the place known as Grohan or Brohan, there are things (ruins) that suggest that the Romans built a theatre here: the walls that can still be observed here, in particular, but also the many pieces of money stamped with the images of Roman gods that have been found by the gardeners that work in this place.”
