« Auf dem berg Forviere sindt heüt mehrtheils weinberg in die maur eingeschloßen; unndt sicht man alda andeütungen eines (amphitheatri) schaupltazes unndt sehr prächtigen gebeüwes bey dem kreütz de Colle. »
= “On the Fourvière hill, there are today a whole series of vineyards comprised within the walls and one can see traces of an entertainment venue (amphitheatre) and of some very splendid buildings situated near the 'Croix de Colle'.”
