« Quæque Ara in re tam magna, tum primis sit modificata figurataque, tanta est admiratione digna, ut interea, quæ vorant mundi miracula, celebretur. Prætorium Regum Romanorum erat. Prætorium autem dicebant, locum, ubi Reges & Imperatores castra tendebant, deque rerum victoria, & salute sua contendebant : simulque in ea reddebant. Unde post succedentibus ævis, Senatus populi Allobrogum, omniumque Galliarum fuit, post Romanum Senatum solus alter in universo terrarum orbe nobilissimus, æterno gentis ejus ornamento. Nunc Fanum Gallicè, de l’Advis, nuncupant, quod idem Latinè sonat atque sententia, consilium, deliberatio, cogitatique pronuntiant. » |
