Remarks

Paraphrased, the quatrain reads as follows: 'At Salon, Saint-Paul de Mausole and Tarascon, at the place where the Arch of Sextus is found and there where the monument in the shape of a pyramid still stands , they will come to deliver the Prince of Denmark: shameful ransom at the Temple of Artemide ' (Brind’Amour 1996, p. 503). The quadrifrons (square-sided) arch which constituted the base of the obelisk stood on the spina of the circus
