Remarks

The engraving shows the foundations of the cavea of the edifice used for shows constructed along one of the branches of the Moselle River; the Abbey Sainte-Marie-aux-Nonnains, erected in 1563, is visible within. Chastillon made two other illustrations of the same subject (1- 2)
