Transcription « Palatium Thermarum prope D. Mathurini quidam ab C. Iulio Cæsare conditum volunt. Cœnaculum illic est fornicatum, cui Hortus cum Arboribus imminet. Nomen habere creditur ab Thermis Iuliani Apostatæ, Aquis ex Pago vicino [335] Gentillio eo deductis. » = “The 'Thermae Palace', situated near the Church of Saint Mathurin, is believed to have been built by Julius Caesar. Adjoining this is a vaulted room overhung by the trees in the garden. The name is thought to be taken from the 'Thermae of Julian the Apostate'; the water is brought from the neighbouring village of Gentilly.”
