This posthumous edition, undated, a collection of sixty engravings, had several print runs. In his presentation, Jombert, the printer, speaks of the “architectural works that Sir Le Pautre left us”. The texts accompanying the plates are traditionally attributed to Augustin-Charles d’Aviler. A first collection of thirty plates supplemented by two leaves with a dedication and a preface had come out in 1652 entitled Desseins de plusieurs palais, a title which appears here in the third engraving, under the portrait of the author. The plates supplementing this core come from undated groups, the Desseins d’architecture d’Anthoine Le Paultre représentant les plans & élévations de l’hotel de Fontenay-Mareuille (commented upon in the “Discours cinquième”) and the Plans et élévations du corps de l’Église du Port-Royal (the subject of the “Discours huitième”). Les œuvres d’architecture were reprinted around 1700 by Jombert.
