The copperplates from 1582 were reused in this new edition of the third Livre d’architecture by Jacques Androuet du Cerceau; there are the same flaws, for example the format irregularities in the upper left angles of buildings XIII (plan) and XXV. In buildings IV and XXXVI, the order of the plates was inverted. The slightly narrower format compelled the publisher to move the two elevations of building XXXIII closer together. Lastly, the two plans for building XXIX are lacking. The printed text was reset with new initials, but with no changes; only the spelling of the author’s first name was modernised: “Iaques” in 1582, “Iacques” in 1615.
